TWO people have been charged in connection with an alleged hit and run in which a man suffered multiple injuries.
Owen Williams, 23, remains in Aintree Hospital following the incident at the junction of Wargrave Road and Sunbeam Street in Newton at around 4am on Tuesday (February 2).
Police say he was crossing the road with another man when he was in collision with a car, believed to be a dark coloured Ford. The second man managed to get out of the way and was uninjured.
Robert Taylor, 20, from Bickershaw Lane in Wigan and 18-year-old Abbey-Lee Liptrot from Belvoir Street also in Wigan were arrested and have been charged with Section 18 wounding and attempted Section 18 wounding.
Both were kept in custody before appearing at Sefton Magistrates Court this morning.
