TALENTED dancers from The Stage Factory are celebrating after securing a place to perform at the Royal Albert Hall.

It's double delight for the dance and theatre school, based in Ravenhead, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

Eight students, aged between 14 and 18 are one of 22 acts chosen from 200 entries to take to the stage on Sunday, November 15, in front of an audience which will include Darcey Bussell CBE, Matt Flint and Arlene Philips.

They will be performing a tap routine titled Bang Bang and will be joined on stage by dancers from as far as Norway and Italy.

Choreographer Helen Pender from the Stage Factory said: "What a better way to celebrate the school's 10th anniversary than a performance at the Royal Albert Hall representing our forte, tap."

Darcey Bussell said: "The Stage Factory will make a great addition to the line up this year. To perform at a world famous venue requires hard work, dedication and being noticed and being noticed by the right people at the right time."

To qualify for the Dance Proms dance teachers submitted a short dance piece featuring original choreography in any genre and performed as a solo, couple, trio or group. Entries were submitted online by video and selected by a panel including artistic directors and senior examiners from the world of dance.
