ST HELENS film director David Yates will shoot some of a Harry Potter spin-off trilogy in Liverpool.
As the Star previously reported Yates, who directed the last four Potter movies, 51, has taken the reins of the prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them series.
With the screenplay penned by JK Rowling, the films are based on the 2001 book of the same title which the Harry Potter author wrote in aid of Comic Relief.
Liverpool will be the only non-studio filming location to be used by Warner Brothers for the movie, with various city centre sites to be featured including St George's Hall
Oscar-winning Theory of Everything star Eddie Redmayne plays lead role Newt Scamander in the films, with Colin Farrell also in the cast.
