THE X Factor's Kiera Weathers will be among race goers at Haydock Park for the second St Helens Star Community Race day, which will include an afternoon of performances from top local bands.

And once again, the racecourse is giving Star readers the chance to experience the action-packed close of the flat season for just £5 in an exclusive offer.

It takes place this Friday (October 16).

Kiera, the 18-year-old Clock Face Labour Club barmaid who is through to the Judges' Houses stage of X Faxtor, will be among the guests watching the seven races from 2pm.

She will be interviewed at the course and there will be live musical performances between races to showcase some of the town's finest talent.

Bands Stillia and Titors Insignia are among the acts.

"This year we really want to progress with the theme of community and locality," says Haddock general manager Jason Fildes.

"We're inviting a variety of local businesses over for the day, where they will set up stalls and entertain clients, and we're setting up a stage in conjunction with Jamm Studios.

"This is allowing us to host several local music acts, including local bands Titors Insignia and Stillia - and X Factor star Kiera Weathers will also make an appearance."

Solo acoustic guitarist Vernon Fuller will be playing at the entrance from noon and in the parade ring once racing has started.

Also attending will be Saints players, representatives from The Steve Prescott Foundation alongside long-time supporters Paul Sculthorpe and Lee Briers and Liverpool FC Foundation military veterans.

Gates will open from noon, with races taking place from 2 to 5.25pm.

Ticket prices start at £13, or £11.70 in advance. To take advantage of the reader offer, visit haydock.thejockeyclub.co.uk and enter the promotional code STARFIVE to redeem.
