THE weekend is almost here and once again there are plenty of things to fill up your diary. Here are five things to do in and around St Helens.
There is still time to catch the rowdy comedy The Ale House at St Helens Theatre Royal. Starring Philip Olivier, best known for his roles in Brookside and George Wilson who played Ziggy in Grange Hill, it centres around a bunch of regulars in their local pub.
Shows start at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
For tickets - costing £20, £18 for concessions or £15 matinee - visit the box office in Corporation Street, call 756000 or go to sthelenstheatreroyal.com.
England play Estonia tonight (Friday, October 9) in a Euro 2016 qualifier at Wembley.
Manchester United captain defender Wayne Rooney and Liverpool striker Danny Ings look set to miss the game.
Saints may not be there but there will plenty watching as Leeds take on Wigan in the Grand Final at Old Trafford on Saturday (October 10).
'The Beauty of... A Creative Space' will see live music performed in the Beechams building later today (Friday, October 9).
it is run by the collective Yellow Door Artists in association with the Heart of Glass.
The World of Glass will be opening their Hotties Cafe on Saturday with a glass of fizz for visitors. You can pop along from 12.30pm.
