SAINTS have had a busy summer offering advice to potential stars of the future.

The club has held primary fun days, introducing youngsters to rugby league skills and a chance to meet some of the players.

Sessions have been held all over the town and beyond, with destinations ranging from local clubs Clock Face Miners, Newton Storm, Pilkington Recs, Portico Panthers, Thatto Heath Crusaders.

On their travels they also went to Cumbrian-based Barrow Island and Hindpool Tigers as well as Ulverston and Wath Brown Hornets.

Orrell St James and Liverpool Lions were also visited during the tour which spanned almost 600 miles.

Gareth Friar, community rugby league coach for St Helens and Merseyside, said: "Over the summer break, members of Saints Community Development Foundation have had one of their busiest summers yet.

"We travelled near on 600 miles to teach young children some rugby skills and showed them how to play 'The Saints Way'.

"From St. Helens through to Barrow in Furness and then along the scenic route taking in the wonderful views of the Lake District, the tour ended at the home of Cumbria Community RL Club Wath Brow Hornets at Cleator Moor near Whitehaven."
