A SCHOOL has paid tribute to a teacher who died earlier this year by creating a memorial garden and putting on a special performance.
Staff, children and the community of Legh Vale Primary School in Haydock celebrated the life of Gayna Eagleton, who died in February this year.
Colleagues say Gayna was a much-loved friend, colleague, teacher and is sadly missed by the whole school and community. An evening of celebration began with an outstanding production from the Legh Vale’s Performing Arts Group, which Gayna co-founded.
It was watched by her loved ones, including her children, twins Francesca and Jordan.
A memorial bench donated by her husband now stands in a garden alongside a willow tree. Colleagues say it is a thoughtful space, designed by children and staff in the reception department.
