PREPARE to be spooked with a scary walk about ghost performance at the World of Glass this Halloween.

As part of the Take Over Fest, a group of 25 young women from across the borough have worked to bring St Helens' very own haunted walks inspired by the history of the World of Glass furnace.

The Haunted Furnace shows will take over the underground tunnels of the original Pilkington's glass factory and will be a result of three months of workshops, training and creation.

Performers and makers are currently attending workshops to bring together the shows in The Hotties Furnace of The World of Glass Museum.

A talented cast of 17 performers are working in collaboration with an art department, consisting of eight artistic individuals, who are responsible for the costume, make-up and set elements of the show.

Director Marisa Carnesky and associate producer Victoria Edgerton, have been working with the group to devise wonderful and re-imagined stories.

Caroline Smith, from the Heart of Glass, said: “Everyone involved has contributed to the writing process and vision of Haunted Furnace, whilst the performers rehearse the art department are working hard to create the costumes and props needed for each character.”

The Haunted Furnace at The World of Glass Museum will be awoken on Friday, October 23 and Saturday 24 and Friday 30 and Saturday 31.

The show is for aged 13 and above. Contact the Citadel box office on 01744 735436 to book.
