PRIMARY school pupils turned up at Central Library for an event to celebrate the older generation.
Mayor and mayoress Cllrs Steve and Lynn Glover were present to see activities available for older people at the library to develop skills, try a new hobby, or just socialise showcased.
Art collective duo Yellow Door Artists joined in the celebration and the Crafters' Circle, based at United Reformed Church, ran arts and crafts sessions.
And it was an event for all ages with visitors including pupils from Eaves Lane Primary School, who learned about the Gamble building’s history and its founder Sir David Gamble with his bust treated to a few new knitted accessories.
Cllr Steve Glover said: “We all had a wonderful time at Central Library. It was great that the young people from Eaves Lane Primary could also be there for our celebration of the borough’s older generation, as it demonstrated
the remarkable things a community can do when it respects and values the contributions of all of its members.”
