YOUNGSTERS have been mastering the pedals at Taylor Park as part of a summer holiday cycling scheme.
The council's Healthy Living and Road Safety teams worked together to deliver a 'learn to ride' scheme to 48 children over the summer holidays.
The campaign, aimed at children aged three to six-years-old years encourages families to become more active by teaching the young ones to ride a bike without stabilisers.
Over a four-week course at the park, they learned helmet safety, balance skills, gliding, steering, braking and stopping safely whilst sitting on a balance bike.
Cabinet member for public health and wellbeing, Cllr Jeanie Bell said: “Well done to all the children that participated in this scheme. The staff noticed a huge improvement from all of the children who had fun, made new friends and gained valuable skills and confidence.”
