A FAMILY fun day will take place at the Glass Horse on Sunday, August 30 to raise funds for Crohn’s and Colitis UK.

Proceeds from the day will be going to the charity chosen by deputy manager, Kimberley Follows, who has suffered from Crohn’s for a number of years.

The incurable condition causes inflammation, ulceration and damage to the intestines, with symptoms including abdominal pain and weight loss.

Kimberley said: “We are really looking forward to the fun day; it is going to be a jam packed day with loads on offer to keep people of all ages entertained.

“On a personal note I really hope we can raise lots of money for Crohn’s and Colitis UK. The charity is obviously very close to my heart as it continues to research cures for the diseases.”

The day kicks off at 10:30am, with children being given the chance to have a special breakfast with princesses from Frozen and Hungry Horse’s own, Super Horse.

Between 12pm – 6pm children can enjoy a DJ and entertainer, a bouncy castle, rides, games, a sherbet lab and candy floss stall, and a face painter, while parents enjoy a drink at the outside bar and food from the BBQ.

At 7pm there will be a raffle in the pub with prizes including a signed Saints rugby ball, toys from Smyth's Toys, promotional items donated by Boots and a number of vouchers from local businesses such as Tesco, Blades Ice Skating and Costa Coffee. Finally.

From 7:30pm a DJ will be keeping the party going in the bar area.
