A BOX of chocolates or a bunch of flowers may be unexpectedly coming your way.

To mark their 10th anniversary celebrations, Wellbeing Enterprises will be giving away hundreds of treats to people across St Helens as part of their 'Random Acts of Kindness' campaign.

Treats will be offered to people between July 27 and 31, and those receiving the treats will be encouraged to pass on another act of kindness to someone else, creating a chain reaction of kindness.

Mark Swift, chief executive of Wellbeing Enterprises, a social enterprise which was established in St Helens, said: "We will be giving away all sorts of treats and surprises to members of the public and people who use our services.

"This may include free trips to the cinema, theatre tickets, gift vouchers and days out for the family."

Mark, who is from Haydock, added: "There's no catch - all we ask is that people are kind to others by smiling at someone, holding a door open or saying thank you. All these little acts of kindness and generosity add up to create a kind, caring community where people feel valued and supported."

According to Mark, research shows that helping other people can boost your wellbeing, and, he says, this can be done through something as simple as smiling at someone, holding a door open for someone or helping out a neighbour.
