JORDAN Campbell's mother Kerry Birch told reporters outside Liverpool Crown Court said her son has the justice he deserves, but the sentences do not necessarily reflect what the murderers did to him.

Anthony Wood, of Elephant Lane, Thatto Heath, was found guilty of murdering 17-year-old Jordan at the flat in Parr following the New Year's Eve party. He will serve a minimum jail term of 21 years.

Ruben Hoather, 22, of Tickle Avenue, Parr must serve at least 19 years and Daniel Wiltshire, 26, from Wargrave Road in Newton-le-Willows, 21 years.

Jordan's family had called for whole life terms for the three murderers ahead of sentencing.

However, the judge, Mr Justice Kerr told Liverpool Crown Court that legally, because the kitchen knife used as the murder weapon had been taken from within the flat to where Jordan was repeatedly stabbed, the starting point had been set at 15 years.

If the knife had been brought to the scene of the crime from elsewhere, the minimum term would have been 25 years.

Following sentencing, Jordan's mother said: “Now we have justice we can start to come to terms with what happened to our Jordan.

"Our Jordan was a lovely lad who was sadly missed by all those that met him. He didn’t deserve any of this what they have done.

“But the fact is they have been jailed for a long time. I would like to thank everyone for their support throughout this horrible process, all our family and friends for supporting us throughout the trial.

“Also the police for arresting them and helping get a guilty verdict. Now all three have been sentenced to life and our Jordan has the justice he deserves.

“I think they are all a waste of space and should be locked up for life.

“We don’t think the sentences reflect what they did to Jordan.”
