THREE men found guilty of murdering a teenager in a brutal New Year's Day attack will be sentenced today at Liverpool Crown Court.

Anthony Wood, of Elephant Lane, Thatto Heath was found guilty of murdering 17-year-old Jordan Campbell at a flat in Parr following a New Year's Eve party.

The jury delivered a unanimous verdict at Liverpool Crown Court after a nine-day trial.

Meanwhile, Ruben Hoather, 22, of Tickle Avenue, Parr and Daniel Wiltshire, 26, from Wargrave Road in Newton-le-Willows had both pleaded guilty to murder.

Wood's trial heard that Jordan was killed inside Hoather's flat on Tickle Avenue on January 1.

The emergency services had been called to the flat after calls that smoke was seen coming out of the building. Firefighters found Jordan's body lying face up on a mattress in one of the bedrooms. He was confirmed dead at the scene. There had also been an attempt to burn his body.

Jordan died from a stab wound which had passed completely through his left lung causing it to collapse and had also damaged the aorta leading to catastrophic bleeding.

He also had defensive injuries to his hands.
