THE St Helens Chamber has raised money for two prominent charities thanks to a series of fundraising events.

The Chamber's annual golf day, dinner dance a range of other events have resulted in more than £6,700 being raised for the Willowbrook Hospice and Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF).

Steve Gange, chairman of St Helens Chamber, said: “The people of St Helens are very lucky to have the support of two such excellent charities and it is our privilege to be able to support them in any way we can.”

Nichola Saunders, Fundraising Manager at Willowbrook Hospice added: "We are delighted to be so loyally supported by St Helens Chamber and the generous businesses of St Helens.

“This donation is very welcome as we have just extended the hospice to help to meet demand for our services."

Meanwhile, Martin Blondel, general manager of the SPF said: "This will make a huge difference to the lives of our beneficiaries and will continue Steve's legacy which is going from strength to strength. We look forward to a strong and prosperous 2016."
