A FASCINATING snapshot of old school life will be on display at a new exhibition.
The Rainford Heritage Society is hosting the display throughout the school holidays at Inglenook Farm on the Rainford By-pass until Sunday, August 30.
Among the many exhibits is the original plaque from the opening of Rainford High and an old desk. From Corpus Christi there is a school register from 1844 and an old nursing chair. There is an original union flag from Crank School and a collection of books.
From the two schools that were once on Bushey Lane in Rainford former teacher Ann Illing has brought an old ink tray and plastic and porcelain ink pots.
The exhibition aims to provide a chance for some visitors to reminisce about their own schooldays and for others a glimpse of the classroom before PCs and tablet computers.
It will be open seven days a week from 10am to 4pm.
