MADNESS will bring the next big musical show to Haydock Park when they perform on Friday (July 3).

The 80s music giants are the latest big name to hit the stage at the racecourse, following the sell-out success of Kylie Minogue last month which was watched by 20,000.

It will be the second time that 'Suggs' and co have played at Haydock after selling out the venue two years ago.

The show is part of their Grandslam Madness Tour, which runs from may to September this year.

Madness first stormed onto the UK music scene in 1979, becoming one of the most prominent bands of the 80s with hits including Baggy Trousers, It Must Be Love, Driving In My Car, Our House and the 1982 number one hit House of Fun.

Ahead of the event, Jason Fildes, general manager at Haydock Park, said: “We’re delighted that the world renowned band, Madness will be performing for a second time at Haydock Park after selling out with their first performance in 2013.

"They are well-known for putting on a spectacular performance with a great atmosphere, so I’m sure that once racing has finished and Madness have started their show, Haydock Park will certainly be a House of Fun on Friday. I’d urge racegoers and music fans alike to get their tickets quick so you don’t miss out.”

Also, this summer the Kaiser Chiefs will also come to Haydock to perform on Friday, August 7. Tickets are still available for both the Madness and Kaiser Chiefs events starting at £30 per adult and £15 a child (under 17s) and can be obtained via www.thejockeyclublive.co.uk.
