SECONDARY school and sixth form students will gather at Langtree Park tomorrow to discuss how British values can be promoted in Catholic schools.

Held by the Liverpool Archdiocese, the day will see young people asked directly how they would like to see national values celebrated in schools.

The day long talks will look at how the Department for Education expects schools to promote them and how they are defined.

Students will consider what is expected of them and how British values are explored in different subject areas and they will also be able to study examples from different schools.

Tim Warren, director of schools and colleges for the archdiocese, will deliver the keynote address.

He said ahead of the event: "It will be wonderful to see students from so many of our Catholic Schools coming together as one family.

"I am sure they will present us with a comprehensive and positive view of British values as they experience them on a daily basis in our schools.

"Their views will be invaluable in planning the curriculum in the future."

Pupils from 36 secondary schools and two sixth form colleges will take part in total.

The conference takes place tomorrow (June 30) at Langtree Park starting at 10am finishing at 2pm.
