PEOPLE living with dementia and their carers are being encouraged to share stories as a way to relax.

Entitled Book at Breakfast, a shared reading group - an informal place to meet other people - has been set up in Prescot.

The group is weekly and those who attend are under no pressure to do anything other than sit back and listen.

Councillor Eddie Connor, Knowsley Council's cabinet member for public health and wellbeing, said: "The groups make it possible for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to enjoy the great pleasure of books while helping improve social connection and self confidence along the way."

The group meets at Prescot Library on Thursdays from 10 to 11.30am.
