A MUSICIAN with Cerebral Palsy who uses the latest technology to produce his music will be giving a special performance in 'The Cone' at The World of Glass this Saturday (June 27).

Mark Rowland describes his music as a fusion of different styles from Ambient, Techno, House, Breakbeat and Drum and Bass.

Since working as part of the Smirnoff Mindtunes project with DJ Fresh he joined the Access All Areas scheme set up by Valley Community Theatre which is funded by Arts Council England. This provides musicians with professional recording studio time, rehearsal space and help with live performances.

Mark uses Soundbeam 5 technology which allows people with limited movement to generate tones by blocking a sonar beam. This is linked to recording equipment and manipulated for the desired effect.

After several months of work mark will be presenting his new work based on people's interaction with the environment. He records every day items such as doors and even his wheelchair. These noises are placed along synthesised sounds to build up a track.

His performance will be this Saturday at 2.15pm.
