Man talked down from Sherdley Bridge by police
POLICE were called to Sherdley Bridge over the St Helens Linkway last night (Wednesday, June 24) after a man was spotted on the wrong side of the railings.
A police spokesman said they received a number of calls from members of the public at around 8.45pm concerned about his safety.
The road was closed while officers spoke to the man, believed to be in his 20s, who was led to safety after around 40 minutes.
