SHOPPERS are being encouraged to take part in this year's Moonlight Walk and raise money for Willowbrook Hospice.

A team from the hospice will be in Prescot Shopping Centre recruiting people to take part in the charity event on Saturday, June 6.

Now in its ninth year, walkers can choose one of two routes covering either 6k or 12k.

Last year the charity raised £50,000 and is hoping to smash this target this year.

Neil Wright chief executive of Willowbrook said: "We urge the people of Prescot to get behind this initiative. The Moonlight Walk is great fun for all the family and a brilliant opportunity to help out a local cause.”

Victoria Nichol, Prescot Shopping Centre manager, added: "Willowbrook Hospice is our nominated charity of the year and we actively encourage the local community to support this event and get involved. The hospice offers an invaluable service to the people of Prescot and surrounding areas and I know that a lot of families are very grateful for its presence and faultless efforts.”

Entrance is £15 for adults and £5 for children. To register visit themoonlightwalk.org.uk or call 01744 453798.
