In his latest column, Haydock Park Racecourse general manager Jason Fildes looks ahead to a top-class weekend of racing and entertainment...

I’m sure many of you are still recovering from a superb bank holiday weekend which saw the Betfred Temple Stakes won by Qatar Racing’s Pearl Secret in glorious sunshine at Haydock Park.

But there is little time to recover, and today, Thursday, saw the first of three excellent days of both racing and entertainment at the racecourse.

Tomorrow, Friday, then sees the eagerly anticipated Ladies Evening featuring performances from Kevin Clifton and Karen Hauer, as seen on Strictly Come Dancing, and the infamous
Haydock Park Silent Disco.

With gates opening at 4.15pm and a series of exciting drinks available to help get you in the dancing spirit, this looks set to be another great renewal of the Haydock Park Ladies Evening.

Make sure to enter the competition at the bottom of this page for your chance to win one of five pairs of County Badges up for grabs to go to tomorrow’s Ladies Evening for free.

Then on Saturday we have the 30th running of the Group 2 listed Sandy Lane Stakes.

It provides the first use of the legendary Haydock Park straight six furlongs in 2015.

Last year saw the Ed McMahon-trained Aeolus storm to victory under the guidance of champion jockey Richard Hughes – and this year’s running looks set to be another classy edition!

At the six-day declaration stage, Henry Candy’s unbeaten Limato was among a star-studded field who look set to battle it out this Saturday.

After the precedent set by last weekend’s action, it’s guaranteed that this Saturday’s racing will be something you won’t want to miss!

Tickets and hospitality for all three days of racing are still available. For more information, or to purchase your tickets, please visit haydock.thejockeyclub.co.uk or call 0844 579 3006.
