YES says BERT MITCHELL

YES. On last night's evidence the transfer speculation has got to Kris Boyd.

There can be little doubt that his shot-shy performance is a result of the transfer talk.

The 25-year-old's proposed £3.8million ticket out of Ibrox is the one most likely to save Gers from financial meltdown.

But Boyd is no prize race horse, he is a human being and, with that kind of responsibility on his shoulders, who wouldn't suffer from a lack of focus. The one thing about the SPL top scorer is that he always scores against provincial opposition.

Yet against a side from a lower league he didn't look remotely interested and when an early half-chance came his way he snatched at it.

Even allowing for the fact his cross created Gers' first goal, a fully focused Boydy would have been inside the six yard box getting on the end of it.

The fact he was on the wing only goes to show it wasn't just his mind that was wandering. NO says THOMAS JORDAN

YOU would have expected the Rangers goal machine to add to his tally of 20 goals this season as he started against the First Division outfit.

But his opening couple of efforts on goal - which he blazed wildly off target - gave an indication of what was to come from the striker. It certainly wasn't one of his most impressive displays.

However, he was joined by a number of team-mates in under-achieving at McDiarmid Park, guys who haven't been linked with moves away from the club, so it was more a below-par team performance.

Boyd has been here before. He has been touted with moves from Ibrox in the past and if he was desperate to move to England he would have accepted Alex McLeish's offer.

So it would be wrong to even suggest all that played any sort of part in his display last night.

Boyd is happy to sit tight at Ibrox. It was a game in which he looked sluggish and off the pace.
