A SPECIAL t-shirt worn by Johnny Vegas on last week's Graham Norton show to mark the recent visit of Russell Crowe to St Helens will be auctioned for Comic Relief - with the backing of the Hollywood film star.
Crowe's decision to snub the Oscars in favour of watching his beloved South Sydney at Langtree Park added a touch of glamour to the event.
A headline which appeared in the Daily Mirror, which read 'The Oscars? Nah, I'd rather be in St Helens!', went down a storm in the town in the build-up to the game.
Among them was Vegas who labelled it his favourite headline of all time before duly having a t-shirt made sporting those words, which he wore on a special Comic Relief edition of the Graham Norton Show.
Vegas later informed his Twitter followers that the top would be auctioned on eBay, which Crowe then retweeted to his 1.69million followers.
Glad so many of you liked the @russellcrowe t-shirt. What about an eBay auction? All proceeds to @rednoseday :) pic.twitter.com/DChC0lqrbD
