THE death of a 66-year-old man whose body was found in Carr Mill Dam last Friday is not being treated as suspicious, say police.
His death has been referred to the coroner, whose officers said today an inquest will be opened this Wednesday or Thursday.
Emergency services were called to the beauty spot at around 9.40am following a call from a member of the public who said that a body had been spotted in the water.
The man’s body was eventually recovered and paramedics confirmed that he was dead.
A cordon was put in place for several hours while investigating officers attended the scene.
