MARTIN Murray can fulfil his dream of fighting at Langtree Park, says his manager Andrew Mikhail.

The businessmen has promised to do all he can to turn into reality the fighter’s long-held ambition of a bout in front of his home crowd.

Murray, who is being tipped to extend a deal with South African promoters Golden Gloves, has frequently spoken of his desire to box at the venue and repay the supporters who have travelled to places such as Argentina, Germany and Monte Carlo.

Mr Mikhail believes he can make it happen, and possibly by this summer.

He told the Star: “I think there is a enough demand and Martin wants it to happen. I don’t think it would be for a world title but it would be a good fight.”

Mikhail is well connected with Saints, with his business Solarking sponsoring the South Stand at Langtree Park.

Murray is good friends with Saints chief executive Mike Rush and many of the players.

He also has the respect of the club’s owner Eamonn McManus.

Having a home fight would certainly make a change to the Barmy Army, 700 of which where in Monaco.

Prince Albert of Monaco, reigning monarch of the principality, was ringside and an aide of his phoned Mikhail this week to say the supporters would be welcomed back any time.
