CAMBRIDGESHIRE police have confirmed that Philip Ruane has been found safe and well this morning.

POLICE have issued an appeal to trace Philip Ruane who has not been seen since leaving his parents’ home in St Helens on Monday morning (February 23).

Philip, 49, from The Malting, Ramsey in Cambridgeshire was reported missing late on Monday after his last sighting at 9.20am earlier that morning.

He had been to visit his family for the weekend and had been due to return home to Ramsey yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, February 24).

Police are concerned about his state of mind and are looking to trace him as soon as possible.

He is described as white, British, 5ft 10in, with medium build and cropped shaven grey hair. He has stubble, blue eyes and wears glasses.

Officers believe Philip may be in Scotland after his red Citreon Picasso triggered an automatic number plate recognition camera in Dumfries and Galloway in the early hours of Tuesday morning. His mobile phone was also used in Thurso, north Scotland.

Detective Inspector Garry Webb said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Mr Ruane’s welfare so I would urge anyone who has seen him or has knowledge of his whereabouts to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 514 of February 23.”
