A BLAZE tore through the former Engine pub building in Parr during the early hours of Saturday.
Firefighters were called at 4.40am to the unoccupied premises and had to bring in an aerial appliance to tackle the flames, which spread to the roof space.
Newton Road, where the bulding stands, was closed both ways while emergency services dealt with the incident.
