IS St Helens to get a visit from Hollywood superstar Russell Crowe for next month's World Club Challenge, when Saints face South Sydney, the Australian rugby league club he co-owns?
According to Twitter the star of films such as Gladiator and Noah has taken up an invitation to come to Langtree Park when Saints take on South Sydney Rabbitohs on February 22.
Chris Lamb, using the Twitter account @CarrMillStn tweeted to the Rabbitoh’s co-owner: “Are you coming to St Helens Russell?” to which he replied: “Indeed.”
Chris followed up by inviting the actor for a nice cup of English tea...but is still awaiting a response.
On Twitter Crowe, who was born in New Zealand, has 1.6m followers.
The hugely anticipated match sees a clash between the champions of Super League and NRL.
The Star understands Saints have been planning for Crowe's arrival, which will add to the glitz surrounding the event.
