A MAN in his 60s was taken to hospital after being confronted by burglars inside his home during the early hours of this morning.
It is believed two men entered the house on Sorogold Street, Parr at 3.30am.
They threatened the resident before stealing some property and escaping on foot, say police.
The victim was later found by a neighbour and the incident was reported to officers at 8am this morning.
He suffered a minor injury to his hand during the break-in and has been taken to hospital as a precaution.
Officers have attended at the house, which will be examined by crime scene investigators( and house-to-house inquiries are being carried out.
One of the offenders is described as tall and thin with a pointed face.
He is believed to have spoken with a Liverpool accent. The second offender is described as shorter and of a stockier build.
Both are thought to have been wearing black clothing and had their faces covered.
