EMERGENCY services were called to Marshalls Cross Road after some scaffolding blew over on to a neighbouring property.

Firefighters arrived at just after 3.30pm on Sunday, December 21 and spent around three hours at the scene to secure the scaffolding which had slipped and lodged itself on to the guttering of a home next door.

No onei s believed to have been injured during the incident.

Marshalls Cross Road was closed by police until around 8pm

Neighbour Jacqueline Hughes, whose home the scaffolding fell on to said: “I was trapped in the house for a few hours and my children were trapped outside.

“There was no damage to our property although it had damaged next door’s gutters.

“It was quite alarming and it was just a good job that it didn’t happen during peak hour traffic.”

A spokesperson from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to Marshalls Cross Road at 3.34pm. Firefighters secured the scaffolding and we there until 6.23pm.

“There aren’t any reports that anyone was injured and police were in attendance to deal with traffic management.”
