NINE people have been charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs and a pub is facing a closure order following a police swoop.

The operation on Knowsley led to 17 arrests and the Red Lion public house in Prescot being the subject of a closure order.

People from Haydock, Whiston and Prescot are among those who have been charged with the drugs supply charges.

Eight of them are:
 
·         Kerry JENNINGS, aged 36 from Haroldene Grove, Prescot
·         Allan GOLDING, aged 30, from Haroldene Grove, Prescot,
·         Dean MILLINGTON, aged 43 from Knowsley Park Lane, Prescot
·         Shaun MEADOWS, aged 38 from Whitburn Road, Prescot, L33 9TT                                       
·         Dean INMAN, aged 22 from Coronation Drive, Prescot           
·         Lynsay HALL, aged 23 from Leyland Grove, Haydock                                                
·         David RANKIN, aged 25 from Parkwood Road, Whiston                             
·         Daniel McLOUGHLIN, aged 22 from Manorbier Crescent, Walton                                          
 
Meanwhile, Graham Lally, aged 45 from Stanley Road, Huyton has been charged with 13 counts of supplying class A drugs.
 
All nine have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Friday, December 12.
 
One 37-year-old man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, remains in police custody.
 
Eight people arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences have been bailed pending further enquiries.
 
The Red Lion pub will be the subject of a closure order hearing on Wednesday, December 3.
