GARSWOOD United Football Club has been given the green light to install six new floodlights at their home ground.

The Garswood Road venue will have six floodlights, each more than 12 metres high, put up around the pitch.

Four of them will be level with the edge of the penalty boxes on the east and west sides and two level with the halfway line.

There will be two floodlights attached to those on the edge of the penalty areas and three attached to the columns on the halfway line. They will all be partly underground to ensure that they are stable.

The floodlights would only be used on weekday evenings, normally on three evenings a week, during the football season from August to May.
