A COLLECTION of classic cars roared into the town centre for an event which attracted an estimated 1,000 visitors.

The event, organised by the council and the Phoenix Clock Face Car Club, saw 65 gleaming vehicles from the 40s, 50s and 60s line up alongside classic American cars, bikes and scooters.

The Mayor of St Helens Councillor Geoff Pearl presented prizes to some of the most memorable motors at the show which was sponsored by Lookers Vauxhall.
