A MAN from St Helens died after a collision with a motorbike in Lancashire yesterday.
The incident happened at around 2.20pm when the man, aged 43, was riding his bicycle along Rivington Road, in the direction of Belmont, a village near Darwen.
The cyclist is believed to have hit an orange and white Yamaha motorcycle.
He was taken to Preston Hospital where he died from his injuries. The motorcyclist, who suffered facial injuries, was taken to Salford Hospital.
The road was closed for three hours following the incident and to allow for investigations to take place.
Lancashire Constabulary have informed the cyclist's family and are looking for witnesses in order to establish how the collision happened.
