BAR and pub goers will be the target of a ‘One Punch Can Kill’ campaign that highlights the potentially deadly links between too much alcohol and violence.
Police officers will be distributing posters, beer mats and bar entrance hand stamps — all bearing campaign messages — at town centre venues.
Chief Superintendent Julie Cooke, said: “Incidents of this nature not only have devastating consequences for the families of the victim, but the community as a whole.
“I would like to reassure the public that we will do everything possible to bring violent offenders to justice. to make sure they cannot cause misery to our communities Extra patrols will be on the streets in St Helens as the campaign is launched and I would encourage everyone to speak to them if they would like more information or if they would like to report a crime.”
