ST HELENS will be bursting with energy when the town limbers up to take part in National Fitness Day.
There will be activity sessions across the town free of charge. It is part of National Fitness Day, a programme which aims to raise awareness in the community of the benefits of physical activity.
The council’s Go Active, Sports Development and Public Health teams will be providing free taster sessions on the day encouraging people to improve their health and fitness.
There will be classes across St Helens throughout Friday, September 26 as well as a mass Tai Chi session in Victoria Square.
Councillor Andy Bowden cabinet member for Public Health and Wellbeing said: “Research shows if you exercise with others you are more likely to stick at it. A combination of social atmosphere and camaraderie creates a positive atmosphere and importantly helps us to have fun.”
