MORE than 65 memorable motors will be lining up in the town centre for this year’s Classic Car Show.

Organised by St Helens Council and the Phoenix Clock Face Car Club there will be vehicles from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s along with a range of classic American cars, bikes and scooters.

Hundreds of enthusiasts are expected at the event on Saturday, September 20.

St Helens Council leader Barrie Grunewald said: “There'll be plenty to see with dozens of owners displaying their prestige cars. We're expecting a huge turnout. It's great to see the town centre providing such a terrific backdrop to this incredibly popular event."

Rob Jones, Phoenix Club Secretary said: "The Phoenix Car Club has had a very successful year displaying all over the country and we are really looking forward to the Church Square event".

The event takes place between 10am and 4pm and is completely free. Prizes will be awarded for the best vehicles.

The show which is sponsored by Lookers Vauxhall is one of a series of events in the town centre this autumn.

The Continental market with return to Church Street between Tuesday September 30 and Saturday October 4.

‘The aliens are coming’ on Saturday October 18 with a special sci-fi themed event. And between Friday October 24 and Saturday November 1 the Olde Tyme funfair will be heading to Church Square featuring a giant wheel and vintage amusements.
