PLANNING officers have given the go-ahead to two new developments on the outskirts of the town centre.

The former Roundhouse public house and Indian restaurant on Higher Parr Street will be converted into 10 bedsits, with three parking spaces.

In the past, the building, which is currently vacant and in a state of disrepair, housed the Fingerpost Hotel.

On North Road, Yellow Rose Cards, which is on a small parade of shops, is to be converted to a tattoo parlour.

The parlour, which will employ just one tattoo artist, will open from Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 6.30pm, on Saturdays from 9.30am to 6pm and on Sundays from 10am to 5.30pm.
