A MAN has been remanded in custody after he was charged with sexually touching a ten-year-old girl in a house.

Steven Huddart, 24, from Drybeck Grove, Sutton, appeared at St Helens Magistrates' Court to face the charge last Friday. The alleged offence happened at a house in Sutton on Wednesday , August 27.

Police were called at about 6.45pm to a report that a young girl had been inappropriately touched by a man.

Officers attended and after making enquiries they made an arrest.

Huddart, who is yet to enter a plea, listened as prosecutor Angela Blackmore outlined the nature of the allegations against him.

There was no application for bail and Huddart was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court in September.
