A ‘POP-up’ shop will appear in St Helens town centre next month to raise cash for charity.

For one day only Lee Kinsey will swap his role as a manager at River Island to run the shop in La Grange Arcade in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care.

The 30-year-old from Haydock explained: “My Nan Patricia Thompson died from cancer aged 75 around ten years ago and I thought that it would be a good charity to raise money for.

“They helped a lot during that time.

“A lot of St Helens businesses have donated raffle prizes including Tyrers, Boots, Nandos and BHS and River Island will match any total we raise.

“Celia from the Sandwich Barrow will also be helping with teas, coffees and cakes on the day.

“We will also be going round town with charity buckets. It’s been quite humbling how many people have been willing to help.

“And if it goes well this year maybe we will do it again.”

The shop will open close to Vision Express between 10am and 4pm on Friday, September 5.
