A RUGBY league suppoprter has been banned from his home team's ground after bringing a flare to St Helens' Langtree Park for the rugby league Challenge Cup semi-final.
Warrington Wolves said a 40-year-old man has been banned for two years from the club's Halliwell Jones Stadium after the incident in the cup tie against Leeds.
An 18-year-old man has also been barred for five years for setting off a flare during Warrington's home game with Widnes in April.
A spokesman said action will be taken against anyone found guilty of such an offence.
They added: “Following the recent crowd troubles witnessed at the Tetley’s Challenge Cup Semi Final between Castleford and Widnes, Warrington Wolves would like to assure their fans that public order offences and assaults of any kind that threaten the safety of other persons at The Halliwell Jones Stadium cannot, and will not, be tolerated.”
Banning orders can vary in time between two and 10 years.
