A SECOND man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 35-year-old man in the early hours of Thursday (August 14).
The man, who is 33, from St Helens has been questioned by detectives and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Another man, also 33, was also arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
It follows an incident on Beacon Grove, Blackbrook when officers were called to a flat at around 2.20am following reports of an assault.
Officers discovered the dead body of a man inside.
Neighbours told of their shock.
One told the Star: "Nothing like this happens around here. It is a quiet neighbourhood. It is a block of flats, where I think about six people, many of them elderly, live.”
