A TEENAGER hopes to follow her dream career by earning a place to a top West End acting school.

Seventeen-year-old Nakita Argomandkhah is aiming to gain a place at the Guildford School of Acting next year following the completion of her studies at Cronton Sixth Form College.

She has completed the first year of her BTec Level Three Diploma in Dance and has another year to go on her course.

The former Rainhill High pupil was chosen for the college’s performing arts scholarship as one of only eleven that are currently awarded by the College.

Nakita has previously been involved with the Phoenix Youth Theatre group and got to meet West End star Zoe Curlett, while performing as Fantine in the Les Miserables production last October.

And she will grace the stage of the Liverpool Empire having landed the role of Cassandra in an upcoming production of Cats to be shown later this month after a gruelling two-day audition.

For Nakita, of Eccleston Park, performing is something she has always enjoyed doing.

“I’ve been dancing since I was three at the Jeanette McCulloch School,” said Nakita.

“It was in 2010 when I watched a musical in London that I realised I wanted to go into musical theatre.

“It was then I then decided that this is the road I wanted to go down.” Nakita, who still attends the Jeanette McCulloch School, will also be going on a trip to Paris with the school as they compete against dancers from all over the world at Disneyland.

The performance of Cats will be on at the Liverpool Empire from August 21 to 23.

She added: “Dancing is just something I have always, ever enjoyed since I was little.”
