Students at Cowley Language College celebrating superb A-Level results

STUDENTS at Cowley are celebrating another bumper pass rate in their A-Level and BTEC exams.

This year’s A-Level pass rate is 98 per cent while those taking the vocational diploma remains 100 per cent.

There is also an increase in the number of students gaining a Distinction or Distinction Star which is the equivalent to a grade A or A* at A-Level.

Top performers include Jemma Hughes with two Distinction *grades and an A* who is set to study Forensic Science at Liverpool John Moores University.

Imogen Barwick secured an A*, two As and a C and is planning on reading Biological Science at the University of Leeds. Peter Fisher achieved three Distinction *grades and is going to study Computer Science at the University of Nottingham while Chloe Plunkett passed with three Distinction *grades cementing her place at Edge Hill University where she will study Physical Education.

Matt Hesketh director of post 16 learning at Cowley said: "This year we have seen the number of top grades achieved increase by four per cent.

“We are delighted to report that 100 per cent of our students who applied to university have been offered a place, including 13 to elite universities. "Once again it is a great privilege to see so many talented young people step out confidently into the next stage of their lives well equipped with excellent exam results.”
