THREE people were taken to hospital following a collision in the early hours of Sunday (August 10).

Firefighters were called to Haresfinch Road at around 3.25am after two cars were involved.

A 20-year-old man was helped from one vehicle by paramedics and taken to Aintree Hospital.

A 25-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, who were in the second car, were taken to Whiston Hospital for precautionary checks.

Fire crews from St Helens and Eccleston and the Search and Rescue team were on scene for around 35 minutes.
