A COLLECTION of floral furniture created by a team of students will be on display at the UK’s largest independent flower show.

Attracting more than 70,000 visitors each year the Southport Flower Show will exhibit a gardening masterpiece from Horticulture and Floristry students at St Helens College.

They have created an oversized sofa and coffee table.

But the work is not just for admiring for its creativity, it’s also interactive and will encourage visitors to relax and unwind on the display.

Rob Hogan, horticulture lecturer at the college said: “It has been a great project for both students and staff. It will be a great opportunity for visitors of the show to see the skill, talent and calibre of our students and we are all excited to see the final piece of the show in August.”

The students’ handiwork will be on display at Victoria Park in Southport from Thursday, August 14 to Sunday, August 17.
