NO further action will be taken against a 55-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the death of 54-year-old Tony Gibbons in Whiston, police said today.
Detectives have ruled there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Gibbons' death and a file has now been prepared and sent to Coroner Christopher Sumner, who will hold an inquest.
A Home Office post-mortem examination concluded that Mr Gibbons, who was found injured at an address in martock, Whiston, died as a result of wounds to his neck and wrists.
The 55-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of murder as police investigated an unexplained death.
