A HEARING will be held at St Helens Town Hall tomorrow (Friday, August 8) after police requested a review of the licence of the Havana Bar and Restaurant.

An application was submitted to the council in June after a series of incidents at the Ormskirk Street bar, which included the bar selling alcohol to people underage who had been making 'test purchases'.

Police also claim that there were further breaches of the licence at the town centre venue, including playing music outside via external speakers and that glasses are allowed off the premises.

Complaints had been made about loud music in the early hours of Friday and Saturday.

In January a 17-year-old boy was discovered to have bought alcohol using an expired passport that had actually belonged to a 12-year-old boy. It was one of two occasions when booze was sold to people under 18 within four months.
